Official figures have revealed that teachers are quitting the classroom in record levels. |
According to The Association of Teachers and Lecturers (ATL) union survey the top reason for leaving the profession was an overly-heavy workload. Almost 80% of teachers surveyed said they had considered leaving teaching because their workload was too high. When asked what would improve their work-life balance, suggestions included less work to do in evenings, less unnecessary paperwork, reduction of reporting demands and no more education changes in the curriculum.
The tops five reasons for leaving the profession are listed below. We'd love to hear your views!
